Tabletop Stories Celebrates...

...our FIRST ANNIVERSARY!  It is truly hard to believe that we have being sharing our tablescapes with you for an entire year.  But it's true...and oh the fun we have had.  There was once a time when I thought that setting the table as a hobby was, well, a bit odd.  So when I discovered that there were others like me out there, the idea to write a blog became enticing and finally became a reality.  I am honestly not the best picture taker, but once I recruited my very talented photographer, Laura, we were good to go.  But where to start?   I ultimately chose to set my first table with my mother's wedding china, not only since it is stunning, but mainly for sentimental reasons.  Here's a little peek...

Once we got our feet wet, there was no stopping us.  Sometimes, I just set a simple table for two...

Before we knew it, the holidays were upon us...a tablesetter's favorite time of year.

Everyone is well aware that once Thanksgiving passes, Christmas sneaks up before you know it...with more tables to set!

Luckily, the holiday season provides enough time for plenty of entertaining and beautiful tables.

The changing seasons were the inspiration for many tables capes.  Winter...

Spring...

Summer...

and Fall once more...

I challenged myself to set some tables with linens that I was not particularly fond of anymore...and the results were surprising.  Take another look.  I started with the...

...Red Challenge, and then continued on with the...

...Green Challenge.  The series finished up with the...

...Blue Challenge.  I concluded that with just a little imagination (and a bit of experimentation),  ALL table linens are lovely!  A very special thank you to my friends at Ten Thousand Villages in Glen Ellyn for letting me incorporate their fabulous merchandise into several of my tablescapes.

These postings are some of my all time favorites.  And many things to all of my friends and viewers.  Your thoughtful comments are always appreciated.  I have included many more photos in a separate posting, Eye Candy, and I invite you to take a look.  Finally, a special thank you to my photographer, Laura, who patiently took thousands of pictures for me.  I think her photos just get better and better all the time!  I'm looking so forward to a new year of Tabletop Stories and with a few dishes and a little bit of luck...

Stay tuned for next week's posting when I select my 10 22 all time favorite photos!  Please join me this week @
